Bio: In a dark stable located somewhere between genius and insanity lies the Bad Pony. This two year old creature dishes out top tier electronic music with utmost groove and balls, exactly what you would expect from Tone Depth and his double-decade worth of experience. Mix that with co-founder Greg Pidcock’s youthful fervor and design prowess and you have a recipe for domination. Spawned in Montreal, the Pony aims to populate the DJ set’s and record bags of today’s jockey with it’s fierce kicks and roaring ambitions. Although the Chinese have claimed it is that of a dragon, 2012 is surely the year of the Pony.

Biography
Dory hails from just outside Chicago, raised by classical music junkies who persuaded her to start piano lessons at an early age. In her teens she developed a taste for indie rock and punk, but soon joined the countless other suburban kids who would make the trek into the City on weekends to frequent Medusa’s and Limelight – the notorious underage clubs that would become their introduction to dance culture.
While attending Northwestern University, Dory landed a DJ slot at WNUR, oft lauded as one of the top US college stations. (Mark Farina and Derrick Carter cut their teeth there in the late 80s and early 90s, and Clink Records head lady Camea is an alum as well.) After working as the station’s Promotions Director and launching her first events, she secured positions at several record labels and served on the management team of a regional music festival.
Rocking dance floors from Europe to the South Pacific requires versatility and Dory consistently wins over new fans with her intelligent blend of groovy house, minimal and techno. She as equally at home at a warehouse party or a superclub, and has played events at diverse places from Pacha in London, to Streetparade in Zurich, to a beachside underground in Playa del Carmen.
Dory recently put her classical training to work and finished producing her first solo EP. 2009 will bring additional solo and collaborative projects.
Dory now calls Los Angeles home, having spent the past 10 years in California where she has produced both one-off and weekly events. This past year Dory made appearances from coast to coast and Desyn Masiello named her a “top up-and-coming artist,” inviting her to play at his label showcase at WMC in Miami. Locally she appears at Giant, Avalon and Monday Night Social, and she is a resident of San Francisco-based Listed Productions, which produces and promotes creative, non-formulaic events around the country.
