The Kartel Kast podcast series brings us a familiar dj duo to the airwaves here at audioboxlive – Montreal’s own ROUX Soundsystem with Episode #31 – a very hip hop influenced mix giving this session the feel of a dirty south mix tape….except in electronic format.
ROUX Soundsystem is formed of redbeards Clifford Brown and Marinelli, whose common love for house tech and good company naturally brought them together. This dynamic tag-team is not to be missed at Salon Daomés Motion monthly.
Over the past year they have played at all of Montreal illegal afterparties, consumed an extraordinary amount of vodka/guru, and inspired thousands of people to dance all without much sleep! These incorrigible guys from back East weave ethnic influences into their tech and are crusading to make groove their legal family name.

Chicago native and New York transplant, Dory has nested in scenes all over the country from San Francisco to Miami to L.A. She is an integral part of the listed crew and has been a Varsity Allstars resident/captain since the party’s inception.
Now in its 7th year, the Varsity Allstars party has expanded to two countries and six cities, bringing sporty-attired party goers to event’s nontraditional outdoor venues. This set was recorded in Chicago on Aug 18th at the recent summer closing party at Park Tavern, which reunited Dory with longtime friend and recent Varsity MVP Danny Howells.

La Dix – Nathan Burn rework – with a remix by Monitor and Peaches with a remix by Grunbox. The EP is a follow up to Maus–Chez Nous 4 – Montreal House compilation with was released earlier in 2013. Maus has played at and has been a resident at many of Montreal’s top clubs over her 16 year career. She has shared her deep yet driven sound in countries around the globe since 2000 and now brings some her sounds to you to share with the world.
